Interesting article regarding new trek .. and the comments posted afterwards are a little wild and speculative. If the producers and the writers of the new Star Trek series follow the tradition of pushing the envelope when it comes to social issues, politics, racism, etc. what do you suppose these modern issues will be? Obviously alot different than the 1960's trek where an interracial kiss was considered shocking....

They should focus on good story writing and keep the social issues out of Star Trek
ReplyDeleteI agree, although its kinda hard to write good storylines without the relevant social issues.
ReplyDeleteI think that it would be cool to show what happened to other Star Trek crew like Voyager, DS9, and Generations. It would be cool to also feature maybe one or more of the cast from previous shows like DS9 did with O'Brien. There is a story line that they can start off in like the Dominion War. I hope that they close off some plot wholes they left in Voyager and DS9 as well. I'd love to see an Admiral Sulu as well. Maybe have a Female Asian Captain or an alien Captain It would be an interesting dynamic and who's to say that the Captain has to stay alive the whole season. Have the Leader die mid season that would be a new twist and could force a character to develop in a different way.
ReplyDeleteoh wow!!! that would really shake things up if they killed a captain off mid-season and would give us trekkies alot to talk about online afterwards LOL.. great idea! I also think they will have a war in the storyline.
